Diving into a Unusual Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop in a Mission to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have discovered a variety of interesting indie games. However, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel jumping adventure includes a character that is literally a turd trying to make its way to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

The gameplay is easy to grasp: press a jump control. Throughout one hundred fifty levels, encounter mini-bosses and visit a shop to buy customizations for your poop character.

Execute your movements precisely, as a wrong move requires beginning again. Jump using air pockets to launch your character to new heights, traverse crumbling platforms, and activate triggers to reveal secret routes. Gather currency for buying challenging stages in which gameplay intensifies.

In terms of design, the game features eye-catching level designs and catchy soundtrack. Its minimalist visual style featuring shifting basic polygons may remind fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to name similar titles where you play as a dung character, gaming have long featured scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can make grenades from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as plant food. Unsurprisingly, such content is present a lot in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Despite its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already earned notable accolades, including being named best at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. A playable preview is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version planned to launch on Steam in the fall.
