NFL Roundup: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos clinched a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Display Wins Contest

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 following conceding a two-point play in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes left.

Historic Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to score a possible victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it instead of sending out specialist Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York finished with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," Glenn commented following the contest.
